La neige, principal r\u00e9servoir d\u2019eau dans les montagnes, repr\u00e9sente une variable cl\u00e9 pour la gestion des centrales hydro\u00e9lectriques. Pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de la production d\u2019\u00e9nergie renouvelable, il est donc crucial d\u2019obtenir des estimations pr\u00e9cises de la teneur en eau du manteau neigeux, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire de l\u2019\u00e9quivalent en eau de la neige (SWE), sur des zones pertinentes. La d\u00e9tection de neutrons par rayons cosmiques (CRNS) est une technologie \u00e9mergente qui permet d\u2019\u00e9valuer directement le SWE sur de grandes surfaces en r\u00e9gime d\u2019op\u00e9ration continue, surpassant les d\u00e9fis li\u00e9s \u00e0 la stratification complexe et \u00e0 la forte variabilit\u00e9 temporelle et spatiale du manteau neigeux.
